DG (AIR) Order about Helper to Tech Quota

          As reported earlier, a proposal to restore the quota of Helper to Technician Promotion to 20% was in process. Since last two weeks, when President visited Hon’ble Ministry of I & B to follow up various issues including this, it was told that MIB has issued instructions to DG (AIR) to restore this quota to 20%.

       Accordingly DG (AIR) today (13.04.2015) issued instructions  to National Academy of Broadcasting and Media (erstwhile STI(T)) to conduct examination with 20% quota. This is a welcome move, but we feel that restoring and even increasing quota is not the solution as most of our Helper Members are in forties or fifties and it is very difficult for them to pass the examination which is difficult even for a class I officer. In our opinion the Seniority cum fitness quota is the solution as in ongoing Cadre Review Exercise we are trying our best to make Seniority Cum fitness quota as much as 50%.
