NFADE meets Minister of I&B
|
| As invited by Shri P.R.Dasmunsi, Minister for I&B, about 30 representatives
of NFADE met the minister in the presence of Secretary, Addl. Secretary,
Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary of ministry of I&B, CEO and Member
(Personnel), Prasar Bharati today i.e 01/04/08 at 12.15PM. The minister
patiently listened to the views of the NFADE. In the meeting the delegates
of the federation presented the viewpoint on all the issues concerning the
employees and the organisation. It was said that Prasar Bharati, in the
changed scenario, has lost its relevance. The National as well as the Public
Service broadcaster, i.e. AIR & Doordarshan, should not be asked to
compete with the market oriented private players in the rat race for earning
more and more revenue at the cost of national and social responsibilities.
There should be single staffing pattern in Prasar Bharati, which means all
the future vacancies should be filled up as per the prevalent Recruitment
Rules of the government employees. There should not be different categories
of employees coming through heterogeneous source of recruitment. The minister
also supported this view.
When the minister himself raised the pay-parity issue, the federation delegates clarified that no decision should be taken to award benefit to any particular cadre in isolation. If any decision is taken in this regard, it should be extended to all the cadres to avoid any future complication, confusion and confrontation. This meeting was held as a preparation for the scheduled meeting of the GOM on 3/04/08. It may be recalled that in the meeting, on 18/3/08, of the committee to propose amendments in Prasar Bharati Act it was agreed that the views/demands of the federation would be presented before the GoM. It seems that the authority has taken the federation seriously in the exercise of deciding the future of the employees and organisation. This is the result of our united and dedicated efforts. We will definitely achieve the goal. So let us fight together. Your support, contribution and participation will not only decide the future of the employees and organisation but also an example of success story of employees' struggle for justice. So keep up the spirit. Long Live NFADE. Anilkumar Kulbhushan Bhatia Deepak
