Subject: Merger of 50% DA with Basic Pay to the
Central Govt. employees w.e.f. 01-04-04 for the purpose of O.T.A.
Sir,
I am directed to note to D.O. letter No. 23491/FA/ISP/EST dated 15-03-04
received from SA & CAO, ISP on the above mentioned subject and to
say that the Ministry has sought the clarification from Department of
Expenditure in the matter. The Department of Expenditure has clarified
that as per the order for purpose of O.T.A. notional pay admissible
is pre-revised(IV CPC) scales is to be taken into account and presently
non-gazetted staff drawing upto Rs.2200/- per month, in accordance with
IV CPC scales(including special pay, Personal Pay etc.) under FR 9(21)E
are elligible. Thus merger of DA equal to 50% Basic Pay with in V CPC
scales w.e.f. 01-04-04 will not have any effect so far as payment of
O.T.A. is concerned.
