LPTV Convention at Garbeta (Midnapore-WB)

TVRC Garbeta organized a convention of LPTs under DMC Bardhaman. Throughout the meeting almost all the delegates expressed their deep anguish at the step motherly treatment meted out to them by the DMC authorities. Poor conditions of LPT buildings, lack of proper security arrangements, non-existent spare parts etc. sums up the state of health of these LPTs. The staff has not been paid any payment except salary for the last so many months. In fact at some of the stations the staff have been paying from their own pocket for purchasing diesel etc. and to maintain the stations. Delegates complained that, to add insult to injury, it is the unhelpful attitude of DMC officials, which hurts the most. VP (EZ), other zonal office bearers and state secretaries from West Bengal and Jharkhand attended the meeting. These officer bearers are taking up the matter with authorities.

NFADE formed
A National Federation of Akashvani and Doordarshan Employees, NFADE has been formed by the Staff Associations of AIR & Doordarshan to take up common issues like service conditions in Prasar Bharati etc. Almost all the major Associations & Unions of AIR & Doordarshan have already got themselves affiliated to NFADE. The Federation is shortly launching its activities throughout the country. An Ad-hoc committee consisting of following office bearers has already been formed at Head Quarter level. All the ARTEE unit secretaries are requested to give publicity to this fact in respective stations/Kendras and local committees may be formed in co-ordination with all local units of the associations.

JFADEE Comes into Action again
The Joint Forum of Akashvani and Doordarshan Engineering Employees (JFADEE) of AIR and DD Engg. Employees comprising AIR & DD Engineers Association, ADTEA and ARTEE has once again taken up the common issues from a common platform. Immediately after the meeting of all three associations, JFADEE has taken up the issue of Appointment of casual/ Contractual Engineering/ Technical staff in the name of Operators/ Consultants. The principle adopted by JFADEE is unanimity on every issue. Discussions are now taking place in search of unanimity on the Review of Recruitment Rules of Prasar Bharati in view of few proposals recently floated by Chairman Review committee, E-in-C, AIR.
