Members from Malda, Kalimpong, Alipurdwar, Darjeeling, Kurseaong, Siliguri and PGF Jalpaiguri attended the workshop. Presided over by Sh. J.P. Sengupta, VP(EZ), the workshop not only acted as a forum to express opinions and grievances, but some valuable advice and training was also imparted by the zonal leaders to the Unit Secretaries present. Convenor of the meeting Sh. M.K. Thakuri suggested that every year we should celebrate our ARTEE foundation day on 1st of January, as it was on this day in 1967 that the Association formally took shape. He also suggested that a ARTEE holiday home be constructed in Darjeeling, in the adjacent land, |
which has been given to ARTEE after a long legal battle. The aftereffects
of zonal bifurcation also came in for sharp comments, as a number of East
zone staff is still held up in the North East region. The house unanimously
resolved that EA and SEA must be made all India cadres for the solution
of the problem. The successful organization was a result of the combined
efforts of Sh. P.K. Mondal, Sh. S.B. Gurung, Sh. S. Lakhendri, Sh. B.M.
Pradhan, Sh. B.K. Ghimiray, Sh. Ashok Tamang, Sh. Pawan Dukpa and host
of other members. Besides the technical team, Co-operative efforts by
some Admin and Programme staff as well, deserve special thanks. Likes
of Sh. K.T. Sherpa, Sh. Rupak Giri and Mrs. Yolmo made commendable efforts
toward the success of this workshop.
