The
Staff Training Institute (Tech.), Delhi vide their letter No. STI(T)/Deptl. Exam/Helpers/ 2007
dated 18.06.2007 (copy enclosed) have intimated that the Departmental Competitive
Examination for the promotion of Helper to the post of
Technician for the 20% departmental
quota against the
vacancies for the
year 2006-07 will
be held on
26th August 2007
from 1030 hrs. to 1330
hrs. at Delhi. Accordingly
the practical
test / interview
will be held
on 27th, 28th & 29th
August, 2007. The
place of examination
and practical test / interview will be
intimated along with
the admit card.
All Stations of AIR & Doordarshan of North Zone are advised to ensure that the nominations
of the
eligible Helpers for appearing in the above referred examination
are sent to this office on or before 27.07.07. This date should be strictly adhered. The eligibility conditions are given in STI(T)’s letter
referred to above should invariably be
checked in respect
of all candidates. No roll numbers would be issued to the candidates
whose nominations are received after the due date. The other
details of examination
centre etc. shall be
sent along with
the roll numbers
of the candidate.

Departmental Competitive Examination for
promotion of Helper to the post of Technicians against 20% Departmental
Quota for 2006-07 vacancies.
1. A Departmental Competitive
Examination for promotion of Helper to the post of Technician
against 20% Departmental Quota will be held on 26.08.2007 from 10:30 hours to 13:30 hours at the following centres:
i)
Delhi ii) Chennai
iii) Guwahati
There will be no examination
for the East Zone & West Zone.
2.
The
number of vacancies is as follows:

Please note that these
vacancies are tentative and may change.
3.
All
the candidates in a particular zone will appear at their respective
Zonal Headquarters.
4. The eligibility conditions
for the 20% posts of Technician which are to be filled by promotion
on the basis of examinations are: Helpers working in AIR/DD Kendras
who have completed 11 years of service as Helper as on 01.01.2006
5. The examination shall consist
of :
i) Two theory
papers : 100 marks each
ii) Practical test : 100 marks
6. The medium of examination
will be English or Hindi as the candidate may opt for.
7. This may please be brought
to the notice of all eligible helpers working at your Station/Kendra/Office.
Stations/Kendras/Offices
should send the list of willing and eligible helpers to respective
Zonal Chief Engineer by 23.07.07. It may be noted that the names may not be sent
to STI(T) directly by the stations. Names
sent to STI(T) will not be considered.
8. The syllabus has already
been circulated in the Training News Bulletin Issue No. 32. (July-September,
1999.) and is also available on
STI(T) Website http://education.vsnl.com/
stitair. This may please be brought to the notice of helpers
working at your Station/Kendra/Office.
9. The Zonal
Chief Engineers will intimate the Station concerned about the
Roll Numbers of the candidates, exact location of the examination
centres and other details regarding conduct of practical test.
10. The Zonal
Chief Engineers will intimate the names of the candidates along
with their roll numbers to STI(T) latest
by 30.07.2007.
11. Engg.
Heads of Stations/Offices/Kendras in
which candidates are working should send a letter authorising
the candidates to appear in the examination at the allotted centre
together with three specimen signatures of the candidate, duly
attested, to the Examination Superintendent of the concerned centre.
The Superintendent of the centre will obtain the signatures
and verify the same. Then only he will allow the candidate to sit
for the examination. The
candidates must carry with them their identity card issued by
their office throughout the examination period and produce the
same to the Examination Superintendent on demand.
These instructions may please be brought to the notice
of the candidates for strict compliance.
12.
Carrying of Mobile phones/ pagers is not permitted in the examination
campus.
13.
Candidates
found using unfair means in the examination will be debarred from
taking the examination.
