The two day 2nd Convention of North East Zone organized in R.S.T.I.T. Shillong from 9th to 10th OCT 2009. The Convention was inaugurated by Sh. Manav Choudhury (M.L.A.). Mr. Phillip Bowyer (Dy.Gen.Secy. UNI Geneva) was Guest of Honor. From Central office Sh.Anilkumar S.(President), Sh.Umesh Chandra, Gen.Secy., Sh. R.Raman, VP(TV), Sh. Ramesh Negi (Treasurer) & Sh. G.M.Tyagi, Secy.(S.Tech/Tech) attended the Convention.

A large number of delegates (more than 200) from every corner of North East attended the fruitful deliberations on plethora of issues. Categorization of stations, Training to North East Zone staff in STIT Delhi, Station Problems, SDA Problem etc are discussed and delegates expressed their views and anguish on the issues.

The Valedictory function was honored by the presence of Sh.V.Shivakumar, Member (Personnel), Prasar Bharati and Mrs. V.Sekhose, DDG(NEZ) . Mr. Phillip Bawyer remain present through the convention and observed and appraised the functioning of our organization.

After the convention all central leaders visited AIR & DDK Guwahati, O/o CE(NEZ) Guwahati, AIR & DDK Shillong, LPT Cherapunji, LPT & DMC Dimapur, DDK & AIR Kohima.

Sh. Maloy Kumar Dass, VP(EZ) & Sh.Yashwant Tahasildar, VP(WZ) also attended the convention as Guests.

Central body express gratitude for co operation extended by Sh. Ashish Bhatnagar, Suptdg.Engr. AIR who is currently holding the charge of RTIT Shillong also.

Sh. Dip Bordoloi, VP(NEZ) , Sh. Tarling Lygdoh, SS (Meghalaya) & Vice Chairman, SS Meghalaya with all office bearers of Zonal body deserve all applause for the success of Convention.
